Tropical Storm Beta

Tropical Storm Beta is expected to make landfall on Monday afternoon near Matagorda Bay and track towards the Houston/Galveston area, bringing heavy rain and wind.

Six to 12 inches of rain is expected, with up to 15 inches of rain being possible. 

Residents that live in low-lying areas should be prepared to leave their homes should flooding occur. Pack a bag, gather essential items, and pay attention to local creeks. 

Winds gusts of more than 40 mph and isolated power outages are possible in the Friendswood area. 

Check weather conditions before traveling and never drive through high water. Turn around don’t drown.
