Tropical Storm Beta
Initial Damage Assessments have identified four habitable structures/dwellings in Friendswood that show signs of water intrusion from Tropical Storm Beta.
Here are some guidelines for residents who have items damaged by flood water:
-damaged furniture can be placed at the curb for collection on heavy trash pickup days.
-debris such as sheetrock, fencing, tile, and lumber will not be picked up during residential garbage collection. It is the owner’s responsibility to dispose of this type of debris. Flood insurance generally provides funds for debris disposal that can be used to hire a contractor or rent a portable dumpster.
-hazardous materials such as gasoline, oil, paint, and household cleaners cannot be disposed of through residential garbage pickup or a dumpster. Those items can be taken to the Stella Roberts Recycling Center in Pearland, fees may apply. For more information, CLICK ON THIS LINK
