Holiday Pop Up Book & Media Sale


Friday, December 18, 2020       2pm to 5pm

Friends of the Library host this sale in the Friendswood Public Library parking lot.  If the weather is bad, the sale will be in the library's café.  
Can't make the pop up sale? The Friends offer a ongoing sale in three book nooks containing new and gently used items for all ages.

Virtual Adult Trivia Night

Enjoy a friendly team skirmish with fellow Friendswoodians at our Adult Trivia Night online via Zoom. Question categories include History, Humanities, Sports, Movies, Pop Culture, Sciences, and Geography.

Hosting Chess Play

Join FPL's Chess.com Club! 


Beginning Wednesday, December 30 
  
Whether you attended our Wednesday night chess club pre-COVID-19, The Queens Gambit got you hooked, or you just want to network and play with local chess enthusiasts, come play with us!  We will be using the online platform Chess.com.   

Tournaments will be scheduled on 
Wednesdays from 6 to 9pm.

Friends of the Library

Love The Library?


Become a Friend of Friendswood Library  for as little as a $10 annual membership.  The Friends meet the first Tuesday of the month for an hour to discuss service initiatives, outreach, and fundraising activities.  Meetings are optional but the Friends would love to hear from you.  Become a Friend online through the Friendswood Library website or in person at the library’s circulation desk. 

The Friends have helped the Friendswood Library obtain library equipment such as a portable document scanner, Oculus Rift Virtual Reality System, a display case, Wi-Fi Hot Spots, and prizes for Summer Reading. The Friends also sponsor many library programs and events throughout the year including ZakiCon, May the Fourth Be With You, the Ekphrastic Poetry Contest, music performances, and others.
