Fireworks are illegal in Friendswood

Fireworks are illegal to use or possess within Friendswood City limits. The Fire Marshal’s Office and the Friendswood Police Department will confiscate fireworks and issue citations to anyone caught possessing or discharging fireworks. This offense is a Class-C misdemeanor carrying a fine up to $2,000. Also, you can be held civilly or criminally responsible for fires or injuries caused by the illegal use of fireworks.

There are fireworks stands at the City Limits. Most products purchased from these fireworks stands are not legal in Friendswood. Generally, most products purchased at party stores or big box stores are legal.

Fireworks are dangerous because of their intense heat. They cause thousands of fires, and millions of dollars in damage every year. The noise from fireworks freaks out many pets, and some of their owners. When they explode, they scatter trash.

The City Fire Marshal’s office has a Fireworks FAQ page at THIS LINK
