Youth Fishing Derby Rescheduled, May 8

Due to projected weather conditions the Youth Fishing Derby has been rescheduled to next Saturday, May 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Fishing license or pre-registration is not required. Please bring your fishing supplies since loaner rods are limited. Prizes are awarded to the person in each age group catching the largest fish.

Fitness Punch Card Sale

Fitness Punch Card Flash Sale

Purchase a 16 class fitness punch card for the Friendswood Adult Fitness Program on Wednesday, May 5 and receive $20 off. Fitness Punch Cards—$60 for residents and $80 for non-residents. Cards can be purchased online at parks.friendswood.com or at City Hall in the Parks & Recreation Department. Cards must be purchased on May 5 between 12 a.m. and 12 p.m. to be eligible for the sale price. Punch cards never expire. Sale does not include Senior punch cards.

Pitch, Hit, & Run

MLB Pitch, Hit, & Run™

Young baseball and softball players will have the opportunity to exhibit their skills and compete in three important aspects of the game: pitching, batting, and base running at the Pitch, Hit and Run competition, Thursday, May 6, between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at Renwick Park (Field 3) at 205 Stadium Drive, Friendswood.

The free competition is for boys and girls ages 7 to 14 (as of July 17, 2021). Proof of age (a copy of the child’s Birth Certificate or baptismal record) is required. Register at the event. Metal cleats are not allowed.

Concert in the Park

Concerts will take place at the Stevenson Park Gazebo, 1100 S. Friendswood Dr. All concerts will begin at 7:00 p.m., and end at approximately 9:00 p.m. All concerts are free to the public. Door prizes are given out during intermission. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, refreshments, dinner and/or a snack and sit back and enjoy an evening of fun and family entertainment sponsored by the City of Friendswood Parks & Recreation Department. Wearing masks and social distancing is encouraged.
