New Online Resource Available

Friendswood Library is excited to announce the addition of Oxford English Dictionary Online. OED is a searchable dictionary that can be used to study the history, meaning, and pronunciation of words in the English language. Patrons can access OED by going to our website and visiting the E-Library page. Sign in using your 14 digit library card number.

Love The Library?

Become a Friend of Friendswood Library for as little as a $10 annual membership. The Friends meet the first Tuesday of the month for an hour to discuss service initiatives, outreach, and fundraising activities. Meetings are optional but the Friends would love to hear from you. Become a Friend online through the Friendswood Library website or in person at the library’s circulation desk.

The Friends have helped the Friendswood Library obtain library equipment such as a portable document scanner, Oculus Rift Virtual Reality System, a display case, Wi-Fi Hot Spots, and prizes for Summer Reading. The Friends also sponsor many library programs and events throughout the year including ZakiCon, May the Fourth Be With You, the Ekphrastic Poetry Contest, music performances, and others.
