Cards of Cheer

We need your help! We want to bring holiday cheer to the residents and staff at Hope Village in Friendswood by sending personally signed greeting cards. We ask you to participate in our efforts by bringing a signed holiday card to the library and leaving it in our Cards of Cheer collection box. The collection box will be available for card drop-off between Wednesday, December 1st and Friday, December 10th during library hours. Cards must not have glitter or be enclosed in envelopes. Please sign with your first name only or first name and last initial—NO FULL NAMES PLEASE. All cards will be screened prior to delivery at Hope Village.

Family Lego Hour

Do you have a budding LEGO enthusiast? Are you looking for a free activity for your children? Come to the Family LEGO Challenge and Free Play Hour. This event’s challenges are building a 100 piece brick tower and creating and testing a LEGO marble run. Adult supervision is required. Don’t miss this fun event! Wednesday, December 29, 2021 11:00am-12:00pm in the Community Room

Love The Library?

Become a Friend of Friendswood Library for as little as a $10 annual membership. The Friends meet the first Tuesday of the month for an hour to discuss service initiatives, outreach, and fundraising activities. Meetings are optional but the Friends would love to hear from you. Become a Friend online through the Friendswood Library website or in person at the library’s circulation desk.

The Friends have helped the Friendswood Library obtain library equipment such as a portable document scanner, Oculus Rift Virtual Reality System, a display case, Wi-Fi Hot Spots, and prizes for Summer Reading. The Friends also sponsor many library programs and events throughout the year including ZakiCon, May the Fourth Be With You, the Ekphrastic Poetry Contest, music performances, and others.

Friends of the Library will be meeting Tuesday, December 7th at 6:00pm.
