Memorial Day Ceremony

Everyone is invited to the Friendswood Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 29th at 9:30 AM, held at the Veteran’s Memorial, located next to City Hall, 910 S. Friendswood Dr. This year's line up will include our bagpipe medley from Rob Wise, the Friendswood First Baptist Church choir, the Friendswood PD Honor Guard, and of course our keynote speaker—Jay Shaw. Immediately following the ceremony, a group photograph of all our military veterans and active duty personnel will be taken. Please bring your own lawn chairs. Concert in the Park

Join us tomorrow for a performance by Mo Jiles at Stevenson Park Gazebo, 1100 S. Friendswood Dr. at 7:00 p.m., and end at approximately 9:00 p.m. This week's concert is sponsored by Aaron German State Farm. 
  
 All the concerts are free to the public. Door prizes are given out during intermission. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, refreshments, dinner and/or a snack and sit back and enjoy an evening of fun and family entertainment. Several food vendors will be available at each concert. Check out our event page for more information on each band and for rainout notifications. If you would like to provide a door prize for one or more of the concerts, please contact, James Toney at 281-996-3220.

Friendswood City Pool Opens this Saturday!

The Friendswood City Pool is officially opening this Saturday, May 27th! Pool hours Saturday, May 27th-May 29th are 1 pm-7 pm.  May 29th will be free entry! Pool passes can be purchased at the Pool, 900 Cedarwood, directly behind City Hall.

Pool Fees

  • Family Season Pass (up to 5 members) $80 (resident)/ $110 (non-resident)
    +$10 per additional members
  • Twenty Visit Pass $30 (resident)/ $60 (non-resident)
  • Daily Visit Rate $2 (resident)/ $4 (non-resident)
  • Seniors 60+ Daily Rate Free (residents only)

Memorial Day Closures and Trash Collection

Friendswood City Hall, Library, Municipal Court, and Senior Activity Building will be closed on Monday, May 29 in observance of Memorial Day. Trash and Recycling will not be collected on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29. Services will resume on the next regularly scheduled pick-up day following the holiday.
