Last Concert in the Park for Summer 2023

Join us tonight for the last concert of the series with a performance by Texas Eagles, an Eagle Tribute band at Stevenson Park Gazebo, 1100 S. Friendswood Dr. at 7:00 p.m., and end at approximately 9:00 p.m. This week's concert is sponsored by Dynamic Construction. 
 
All the concerts are free to the public. Door prizes are given out during intermission. Bring your blankets, lawn chairs, refreshments, dinner, and/or a snack and sit back and enjoy an evening of fun and family entertainment. Several food vendors will be onsite at each concert, Chick-fil-a, Kettle Korn, Lemonade Bar, Island Açaí, Gumbo Now, and Twisted Cow. July 4th Celebration


Parade - 10:00 AM

Join us for the 4th of July Grand Parade on July 4th!  A wonderful way to kick off a Friendswood tradition to celebrate our nation's birthday! The parade begins at 10 a.m. on S. Friendswood Drive (FM 518) at Heritage Drive. It concludes at Stevenson Park. Friendswood Police will be shutting down FM 518 at FM 2351 and FM 518 at Whispering Pines at approximately 9:45 a.m. All vehicular traffic will be stopped with barricades on all of the secondary streets between FM 2351 and Whispering Pines until the conclusion of the parade.

Day Program - Stevenson Park
Following the Grand Parade, the July 4th Day Program in Stevenson Park will consist of vendors, games, food, and entertainment until 2 pm. Wristbands for the amusement rides will be sold for $10 each, and Mastercard, Visa, and Cash will be accepted. Friendswood officers will facilitate pedestrian crossing in front of Stevenson Park at the corner of Shadwell and S. Friendswood Drive. Please use caution and watch for pedestrian traffic during the event.

Evening Program - Centennial Park
July 4th evening event at Centennial Park, 2200 S Friendswood Dr., begins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4th. There will be no public parking at Centennial Park. Shuttles will run from 6:15 PM - 8:45 PM from Friendswood Methodist Church and Mary Queen Church. The shuttle at Mary Queen Catholic church is available for those with special needs. See all shuttle locations on the map below. The concert featuring the Tin Man band performing music from all genres begins at 8 pm.  Fireworks will begin at approximately 9:40 p.m.
 
Parking Restrictions
Beginning Sunday morning, July 3rd at 8 a.m. there will be parking restrictions in place for the Lakes of Falcon Ridge subdivision for both residents and non-residents. Parking will be limited to one side of the roadway for all streets in the subdivision. Vehicles blocking the roadways will be towed at the owner’s expense. Compliance will be strictly enforced by Friendswood Police from Monday, July 3rd at 8 a.m. until Wednesday, July 5th at 8 a.m. There are also temporary parking restrictions from Monday, July 3rd at 8 a.m. until Wednesday, July 5th at 8 a.m. on both sides of FM 518 between Eagle Lakes Drive and Old Road and on Falcon Ridge, between Hawkhill Drive and West Blvd. For questions on the event please contact us at 281-996-3220, email at rec@friendswood.com, or go to our website for more information. 

Centennial Park Closure from June 26 - July 7
For the safety of residents during the preparation and clean-up of the July 4th Concert and Fireworks, Centennial Park (2200 South Friendswood Drive), will be closed, from June 26th thru Friday, July 7th, except for the July 4th evening activities.

Fireworks
As we approach July 4th, the Fire Marshal’s Office reminds the public that fireworks are illegal to possess (with intent to use) or use within the city limits. Citizens are encouraged to enjoy our professional, full-scale display in Centennial Park starting at approximately 9:40 P.M. Go to friendswood.com/fireworks for more information and FAQ about fireworks. Reminder: Don’t call 9-1-1 for people setting off fireworks. For non-emergency calls, dial 281-996-3300.
