Freezing Temperatures Expected Starting SundayAccording to the National Weather Service, an Artic cold front is expected to move through our area on Sunday. Long durations of subfreezing temperatures (< 32°) and low wind chills are anticipated to last into mid next week. Residents should begin cold weather preparations now. Cold Weather PreparationResidents are advised to: - Monitor the latest forecasts, warnings, and updates for our area at weather.gov.
- Protect your pipes: Wrap your pipes that are exposed outdoors.
- Know how to shut off your water. Locate your main water shut off valve now, so it can be shut off in the event a pipe breaks.
- Cover your plants for protection from the freeze.

Practice Winter Fire Safety- Never use an oven or stovetop to heat your home.
- Always use a metal or heat-tempered glass screen when using your fireplace.
- Candles: Any open flame is dangerous. If possible, use battery-operated candles. Put candles in sturdy holders at least 12 inches away from anything that can burn, Make sure candles cannot be reached by children or pets, and Blow out all candles if you leave the room, get sleepy, or go to bed.
- Plug only 1 heat-producing appliance (like a space heater) into an electrical outlet at a time. Never use an extension cord or power strip.
- Keep anything that can burn a least 3 feet away from any heat source. (Space heater, fireplace, etc.)
- Ensure you have a working carbon monoxide alarm when you use fuel burning appliances, such as space heaters and fireplaces.

- Stevenson Park restrooms - closes SUNDAY (after 4pm)
- Old City Park restrooms - closes SUNDAY (after 4pm)
