Robbery Suspect Taken Into Custody
Friendswood, TX - On February 17, 2024, the Friendswood Police Department responded to a robbery that occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m., at the Subway located at 104 S. Friendswood Drive.
The suspect entered the Subway, approached the counter, and then walked back out of the store. Moments later, he re-entered the Subway and approached the cashier demanding money while grabbing his waistband. The cashier gave the suspect the money from the register and he then fled from the scene.
Through the diligent work of investigators with the Friendswood Police Department, the suspect was identified as Claude Andrew Pickens, Jr., 58, of Houston. A Galveston County Felony Robbery warrant was issued for him within hours of the robbery.
Pickens was traced to an apartment complex near Friendswood where officers took him into custody without incident at approximately 8:15 p.m. on February 17, 2024.
