Debris Removal Update
Since July 15th, crews in Friendswood have been working from dawn to dusk, focusing on large vegetative debris (large branches, brush, etc.) and are still on the first pass. Additional passes will be made to collect storm debris not collected on the first pass. A neighborhood or street pickup schedule is not available.
On average, the City’s debris removal contractor is removing 3,400 cubic yards of debris daily, which is approximately 55 truckloads. Debris removal is a slow process involving specialized trucks and trained personnel. We appreciate your patience and ask you to help by:
- Keeping large vegetative debris, bagged vegetative debris, fences, and your normal household garbage separated.
- Keeping debris piles away from: fire hydrants, mailboxes, meters, sprinklers, trees, utility boxes, or other structures.
- Moving vehicles off the street or away from debris piles during daylight hours.

Just a reminder, your household garbage will be picked up by Waste Connections on your normal service day.
