Hurricane Beryl Debris

Please ensure that all Hurricane Beryl related debris is on the curb by 7 a.m., Monday, August 26th. 

  • All remaining vegetative debris and fences should be on the curb, separated by type. 
  • Keep debris away from: fire hydrants, mailboxes, meters, sprinklers, trees, utility boxes, or other structures.
  • All vehicles should be parked in driveways or away from debris piles during daylight hours.

NOTE: Freshly cut tree limbs, branches, lawn clippings, & non-storm-related construction materials WILL NOT be picked up by storm debris crews.

Household Garbage

Just a reminder, your household garbage will be picked up by Waste Connections on your normal service day. Green waste pickup and heavy trash pickup is collected on your 1st regular heavy trash pickup day of the week and needs to comply with bundling and weight requirements.

  • Branches, brush, and other woody materials should be bundled and tied in lengths not exceeding 4 feet and weigh no more than 50 pounds.
  • Leaves, small sticks, grass clippings, yard and garden debris should be bagged and should weigh no more than 50 pounds.

NOTE: Any vegetation or fences placed on the curb after 7 a.m. Monday, August 26th will need to comply with the same bundling and weight requirements.

National Night Out 2024

Registration is now open for the best night of the year! National Night Out is a night for neighbors and local law enforcement to come together and build a safer community. Texas Residents will celebrate National Night Out on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Register your neighborhood between now and September 1.

 This year, the Friendswood Police Department will be supporting FISDCarea by collecting Sleep Fit Kits for local teens. These kits consist of adult sized socks, pajamas, and underwear. For underwear, we are requesting briefs for boys and seamless briefs for girls. The neighborhood that collects the most Sleep Fit Kits will be recognized with a trophy!  Register here

Ice Cream Social + Winter Weather Preparedness

On Labor Day, Friendswood residents are invited once again to step back in time for the 9th Annual Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social sponsored and hosted by the Friendswood Historical Society, Keep Friendswood Beautiful (KFB) and the Friendswood Rotary. Enjoy ice cream from the Friendswood Scoop Shop, live music, and visiting with friends at this FREE event. Lawn chairs and/or blankets are encouraged.

This year, the City of Friendswood Emergency Services and other essential City departments will be there providing information on how to prepare for winter weather. Stop by their tables, pick up some giveaways, and make sure your family is prepared for this coming winter.
