Spring Sparkle 2023

The event is held at Centennial Park, 2200 S Friendswood Drive, and is open to Friendswood Resident only (must present ID as proof of residency upon entering the park).

Items Accepted

Items accepted include: 

  • Garage sale items for donation
  • Metal
  • Old appliances
  • Old furniture
  • Plastic
  • Residential Shredding Services (200 pounds max per vehicle) available from 8AM-12PM or until the truck is full. (no Commercial shredding)
  • Tree limbs
  • Wood

Items NOT Accepted: 

  • Cement items or bricks
  • Hazardous waste such as paint, tires, or batteries


Electronic Recycling

Compucycle will be accepting electronics for recycling from 8AM-12PM, or until the truck is full.

  • Cable boxes
  • Cables
  • Cell phones
  • Computers
  • Fax machines
  • Hubs
  • Ink jet/toner cartridges
  • Keyboards
  • Laptops
  • Monitors
  • Power cords
  • Printers
  • Routers
  • Servers
  • Switches
  • Telephones
  • TVs (No TVs Over 36-Inch)
  • USB drives

Shredding Services

Shredding will be offered from 8 am to noon, or until the truck is full. There will be a 200 lb limit of paper per vehicle. Items NOT able to be shredded are:

  • 3 ring binders
  • Cardboard
  • Floppy disks
  • Hanging file folders
  • Microfiche
  • Newspaper
  • Video tapes

Clean-up Items

Accepting:

  • Grass clippings
  • Old appliances
  • Old furniture
  • Tree limbs
  • Unwanted wood, metal, and plastic

Garage Sale

KFB will be accepting garage sale donations such as furniture, household items, bikes, etc. that are in good condition. (Clothing items NOT accepted.) 

Garage sale items can be dropped off from 8AM to 12PM. 

All proceeds for the garage sale will benefit the beautification of City facilities and parks. 


Wildlife Rehabilitation Items

NO wildlife donations will be taken at this event. (Examples: dog and cat carriers, clean rags, shallow crock bowls. )

No Hazardous Waste

Examples of items that will not be accepted are: tires, paint, batteries, oil, or any other household hazardous waste. If you have any questions please call the Parks and Recreation Department at 281-996-3220.
