Melinda Welsh has worked at all levels of the City Secretary’s office; beginning as an Administrative Assistant in 2002, promoted to Records Clerk in 2003, Deputy City Secretary in 2005, and in 2010, was appointed as City Secretary by the City Council.
She is active at the state and local levels of the Texas Municipal Clerks Association, serving on various committees and on the organization’s Board of Directors. Melinda earned her Texas Registered Municipal Clerk’s certification through the University of North Texas (2009) and continues her education for recertification every five years. She has taught Election Law to Texas Municipal Clerks as part of their Certification Program.
Melinda is a Friendswood Rotary Club member. She and her husband, Byron are Friendswood residents. They enjoy being involved in their church and traveling, especially visiting their two granddaughters.
