Charter Review Commission
The Charter Review Commission is appointed by the Council approximately every five years. The commission inquires into the operation of the city government under the Charter provisions, determines whether any such provisions require revision and perform such other duties as set forth in Section 11.09 of the Friendswood City charter.
The 2021-22 Friendswood Charter Review Commission is composed of seven citizens appointed by the City Council whose task is to review the Charter and proposed possible amendment to the City Council. The members appointed by the City Council on July 12, 2021, are the following:

- James H. Nye
- Bill Provenzano
- Ron Cox
- Judy Wiggins
- Former Mayor Dave Smith
- 6 months (July 12, 2021 - January 11, 2022)
- City Manager
- City Attorney
- City Secretary
